Harvest

Inventory > Harvest allows you to handle material coming from the field back to the genebank for processing and eventual storage. It is based on the Harvest inventory action. This action can be automatically scheduled through workflows, or added manually.

Harvest lists the planted inventories and their corresponding harvested counterparts. The Harvested inventory is initially empty.

Showing planted material ready for harvest

By clicking +, a dialog prompts you to scan the barcode of the incoming (planted) material:

Register harvested material

After filling out the form and hitting the Create button, a new inventory is added. The dialog stays open to scan the next barcode. This creates a new inventory with incremented generation number, harvested quantity, and is linked with the source (planted) material.

The tool allows for multiple harvests (due to seed maturing at different pace). When the same barcode is scanned again, GGCE loads the information about the already harvested inventory and displays the Total harvested quantity. It does not allow for changing the inventory prefix or suffix anymore.

Update quantity of harvested material

You can continue adding quantity to the harvested inventory for as long as the Harvest action is open, and you finish the harvest by selecting the rows and hitting End harvest:

End harvest

End harvest sets to zero the quantity on hand for the planted material, effectively making it a historical record, and marks the Harvest action as completed.
