Attachments

The Attachments feature is used to add and view documents and images related to a specific item in the database. In GGCE, it is possible to add an attachment to an accession, an inventory item, a specific crop, and so on.

Any file can be stored in GGCE as an attachment, including photos, other image types, PDFs, Word documents, and Excel spreadsheets.

The Attachments option is available from the banner on different details pages – for example, an accession’s details page or a crop’s details page.

When attached via the Crop window, the attachment will be related to the crop record. In the image below, some files have previously been attached.

Attached images will display smaller “image thumbnails” in the Attachment window. PDF and other document filetypes will be listed.

In the attachments box, you can attach either by using one of the two buttons or by dragging files from the file Explorer window to the highlighted area.

The Choose files to upload button makes it possible to upload many files at one time. The Upload a picture button is used for one image at a time, and is most useful on mobiles where it is possible to directly use the camera to upload a picture.

Viewing or downloading attached files

On the Files grid, icons are listed that can be clicked to download the file or to view the image including the image’s details.
