Trait data
Trait data is an important part of documentation of genebank material: it helps ensure trueness-to-type when material is multiplied, and it helps users find the most appropriate material for their work.
GGCE uses the following concepts when it comes to trait data:
- Crop traits define which properties of germplasm are observed and how. They are commonly known as trait descriptors.
- Trait observations store trait information and are directly associated with the inventory representing the germplasm that was observed.
- Trait observation data allows you to capture observations of the individual samples before aggregating the sample data into a trait observation record.
