Quick start
GGCE is freely accessible, open-source software, designed for genebanks to store and manage data associated with plant genetic resources in their collections. GGCE provides the genebank with current information about each sample in the collection, allowing for better allocation of their limited resources, and prioritization of activities.
GGCE is accessible from your phone, tablet, or computer. It integrates printing of labels with barcodes (QR, datamatrix or linear), and scanning of those barcodes to speed up routine genebank operations and avoid issues with data entry.
We will use https://demo.ggce.genesys-pgr.org in this guide.
Logging in
The Login screen will be similar to one of the following:
At the Sign in window, enter the Username and Password that were assigned to you; then click the Login button or press Enter.
General interface notes
GGCE windows are divided into two distinct areas: a left menu and a right panel.
The menu lets you navigate to different areas of GGCE, each focusing on a specific aspect of genebanking: Passport data, germplasm Inventory, Distribution, etc.
On small screens, the application menu can be opened by clicking the GGCE logo.
GGCE grids are generally lists of items (records). Each list displays data in columns; the example used here is Inventory.
