GGCE 2025.2
2025.2
comes with many improvements and new features, focusing primarily on securing access to data at different sites, allows using ZPL and PDF label templates, adds an image browser and uploading of images to Genesys, support for custom menu items on the main page, unit conversion between seed/gram/count in distribution, and a Harvest tool which is a key part of seed multiplication process in genebanks.
Please check the complete list of changes at:
Harvest
Key new feature: Inventory > Harvest allows you to handle material coming from the field back to the genebank for processing and eventual storage.
Uploading images to Genesys
Key new feature: Passport data > Genesys attachments allows for uploading to and downloading images from Genesys.
PDF labels
Most genebanks use specialized industry-grade label printers with ZPL support, but it is often necessary to print labels to a regular printer.
2025.2.0
adds support for PDF label templates, allowing you to print from GGCE to your laser and other types of printers.
A common use-case is printing directly onto envelopes with the use of a special type of hardware.
PDF label templates follow the same pattern as PDF report templates, except that they need to be registerd in the Admin > File repository under /labels/
folder (not /reports/
).
The PDF label templates are displayed alongside ZPL labels in all GGCE Print label dialogs.
Image browser
The image browser allows you to have a quick look at all images attached to accessions (in Passport data > Images) and to inventories (in Inventory > Images):
Distribution
GGCE is now able to convert between seed, gram and counts which allows for more automation in handling the distributed and remaining quantities. The Hundred seed weight needs to be available for that to work!
We added a Distribution tab to accession and inventory pages to provide quick access to their distribution history:
Seed viability
2025.2.0
adds Started date to viability tests and is therefore able to display the duration of tests:
A new tool to print a bunch of labels for viability tests is also available:
Custom menu items
Under Administration > Custom menu items you can define links that appear in the main menu of GGCE:
The links are displayed on the main GGCE menu and will open the links in a new browser tab:
Permissions
To help administrators manage permissions better, we added the display effective permissions for users, groups, clients:
Accession and inventory filters show only the sites where the user has "read" permission:
