Role of individual genebanks

The genebanks that have decided to adopt GGCE will fulfil the following roles and responsibilities:

Deployment and operation of GGCE:​

  • Install GGCE in the genebank’s IT environment, migrate data, and ensure the continuous operation of the GGCE system.
  • Follow the recommendations on operation and maintenance of the system, including backup and restore procedures.
  • Provide active feedback to the Technical Teams on the usability of GGCE for genebank inventory management

Support genebank staff:​

  • Train and support genebank staff in use of GGCE with assistance from the Crop Trust or CGIAR technical teams.
  • Report new user requirements, and any issues encountered.
  • Optionally adopt or develop additional GGCE-linked applications.
